For over three decades, golfers have gathered the day after Labor Day at the Leatherstocking Golf Course, Cooperstown, to take part in a premier event hosted by The Otesaga Resort Hotel. This benefit tournament supports Pathfinder Village scholarships and the Education programs at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and offers challenging play, unmatched hospitality, and breathtaking autumn views of Otsego Lake. New in 2019, all amateurs will finish their 18th hole with our tournament host, a member of the Hall of Fame.
With NBT Bank as Presenting Sponsor, and Coca-Cola Bottling of Northern New England as Corporate Sponsor, the Golf Invitational features amateur foursomes playing a two-best ball round on one of the Northeast's most storied courses. Players compete for team prizes worth over $6,500, and are invited to enjoy the evening's lakeside cocktail reception and awards banquet that includes a keynote by the Hall of Fame Ambassador.
Past Hall of Fame Ambassadors have included Carlton Fisk, Tim Raines, Rollie Fingers, Ryne Sandberg, Fergie Jenkins, Johnny Bench, and Mike Schmidt. Our current Invitational Steering Committee Chairs are Daryl Forsythe, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of NBT Bank, and Dan Spooner, the Director of Golf of the Leatherstocking Golf Course.
The Otesaga graciously offers Pro-Am participants a discount room rate for the tournament: To make reservations, please call 1-800-348-6222, and choose Option 1.
