The Farmstead Market & Community Center

Visit this page often to learn of the progress and developments of Pathfinder Village’s latest project, The Farmstead Market & Community Center. Designed as a sustainable, LEED-Silver certified building, the restored farmstead will be the new home for Pathfinder Produce, our signature microbusiness that offers vocational training opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities and helps meet the fresh produce and staple food needs in a USDA-designated food desert community.

Designed by Altonview Architects and built by Pike Construction, the $6 million investment will offer extended hours for grocery and produce shopping, offering the entire region a greatly needed full-service grocery store. The Farmstead Market and Community Center will also feature local farm products, goods created by local artisans, and specialty items created by businesses owned by entrepreneurs in the disabilities community.

You can be a part of this transformational initiative at Pathfinder Village by donating to the building fund. Once opened, The Farmstead will also offer:

  • ADS Culinary training classes and Grab ‘n Go lunch menus to serve our community.
  • Pre-vocational training services for adults with disabilities who desire community-based jobs
  • Community events and enrichment activities
  • Space rental options for small businesses, private events.
