The Farmstead Market & Community Center
Coming to Edmeston in 2026!
Visit this page often to learn of the progress and developments of Pathfinder Village’s latest project, The Farmstead Market & Community Center.
Thanks to our generous donors, a plan five years in the making is coming closer to reality!
Designed as a sustainable LEED-Silver certified building, The Farmstead Market & Community Center will be the new home for Pathfinder Produce, our signature microbusiness that offers vocational training opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities and helps meet the fresh produce and staple food needs in a USDA-designated food desert community.
Working with Altonview Architects and construction manager Pike Construction, the nearly $6 million investment will feature extended shopping hours, offering the entire region a greatly needed grocery store. The Farmstead Market and Community Center will also sell local farm products, goods created by local artisans, and specialty items made by businesses owned by entrepreneurs in the disabilities community.
More than a market, The Farmstead will join our other existing microbusinesses, the Pathfinder Village Bakery & Cafe and the Pathfinder Village Inn, under the management umbrella of the Pathfinder Community Collective. "PCC" represents our business philosophy and commitment to empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through vocational training and employment activities and fostering a supportive, progressive environment.
As we build the project, we are meeting families and neighbors who share our belief that providing an essential food market, retail store, and community space will help create a stronger, more vibrant community. If you would like to learn more about The Farmstead and opportunities to support this transformative project, please contact Pathfinder Village Foundation Director Monica Clark to learn more. - Culinary training classes and Grab ‘n Go lunch menus to serve our community.
- Training services for adults with disabilities who desire community-based jobs
- Community events and enrichment activities
- Space rental options for small businesses and private events.
