Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Chenango House
Pathfinder Village is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support and care to aging individuals with medical needs, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, administering medications, and promoting community involvement. No prior experience is required, comprehensive training provided. The ideal candidate would have experience working with elderly individuals and a background in medical care is preferred.
Scheduled Overtime: This position includes a rotating schedule with one week of 36 hours (three 12-hour shifts) and the following week of 48 hours (four 12-hour shifts). Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a week.
Compensation:
Base Pay: $17.00 per hour
Overtime Pay: $25.50 per hour (1.5 times the base pay)
Total Compensation: With scheduled overtime, the gross pay per payroll period will be $1496.00. If converted to an 80-hour payroll with no overtime, the equivalent hourly rate would be $18.70.
Sign-On Bonus: $3,000, paid over time

Key Responsibilities
Benefits Management
Oversee the benefit enrollment process, including explaining benefits and maintaining the online enrollment platform.
Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve issues.
Manage and monito employee medical leaves, including Paid Family Leave, Short Term Disability, Workers' Comp, and FMLA.
Monitor ACA compliance and eligibility.
Employee Retention
Maintain electronic employee personnel files.
Provide employees with required annual notices
Maintain and update department job descriptions
Participate in the Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Qualifications

Adult Day Services Specialist
Adult Day Services Specialist
The Adult Day Services (ADS) Specialist is to provide direct habilitation services to adults under the direction and supervision of the Day Habilitation Coordinator at the Shafer ADS site. The Day Services Specialist will be responsible for providing habilitative and/or vocational activities and options to individuals served by Pathfinder Village Day Services. The ADS Specialist will plan, coordinate, and implement targeted services to increase individuals’ independence and reach community or employment goals. Strong documentation skills are a must, as are strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with individuals and community partners.

Required: Must have a valid NYS driver's license
Preferred: 1+ year(s) experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Community Habilitation Specialist
The Community Habilitation Specialist provides support in a home or community setting that promotes success at the highest level of independence possible In addition to program-specific functions, this will include, but not be limited to: teaching and reinforcing a wide range of daily living skills, promoting independence, preventing and responding to crisis situations appropriately, encouraging self-advocacy and facilitating the development of natural supports. All services will be provided in collaboration with program participants and their service plan, utilizing a person-centered approach.

Student and Camper Engagement Specialist
The Student & Camper Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals enrolled in the Otsego Academy (OA) Program, a post-secondary program designed to enhance independent living, social, and employment skills for students with disabilities. Throughout the academic year, this role focuses on student engagement, skill-building, and dorm life coordination. During the summer months, the position transitions into a camp counselor role, leading enrichment activities and fostering personal growth in a camp-style environment.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in both structured educational settings and interactive summer experiences, with a passion for empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve success.

Cooper Transport
Under the direction of the Manager of Ancillary Service, this position is responsible for providing support in Cooper transportation and the ancillary department. Daily tasks will be assigned as needed to cover areas of listed duties, but not limited to:
- Transport individuals to/from work locations
- Deliver and pick up mail daily
- Assist with daily gassing of village vehicles and record mileage as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles
- Assist with the transportation of food/supplies
- Assist with washing dishes and daily cleaning during times between trips
- Assist with putting away cooler, freezer, and dry deliveries
Houry rate starts at $16.25 and is commensurate with experience.

Overnight Manager
The Overnight Manager is a Direct Support Professional who works directly with Residential Team Leaders to provide leadership and support to residential staff on the overnight shift. Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pathfinder Village presently has 12-hour shift openings for Direct Support Professionals. Primary responsibilities include providing direct care and residential guidance/supports for individuals living with intellectual and other disabilities within an open-access community setting. Additional duties involve advocating and supporting informed choices of individuals within the greater community. Strong record keeping skills, local travel, flexibility, and a commitment to ongoing job training are required.
- 3 - 4 day work week.
- No prior work experience is required.
Starting hourly rate ranges from $16.25 to $20.50 an hour, commensurate with experience. Overnight staff get an additional $3 an hour shift differential on top of their base rate when working an overnight shift.
