Vaccinations

All Hands On Deck

Vaccinations are an important tool in battling COVID-19

#1. People are considered vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson).

#2. Booster shots for these vaccines are now available in New York State. Please contact your city/county health department or local pharmacies to learn about making an appointment.  Find out more from the NYS Dept. of Health at this link

#3. As of Dec. 2021, public health guidance encourages ongoing measures to stop the virus' spread in our communities, despite your vaccination status. These include:

  • Wearing masks in public spaces, like stores, schools, and work.

  • Continuing to follow good hand hygiene and cleaning protocols.

  • Keeping your social circles small and limiting time in crowded settings.

New virus strains of concern have been identified by the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control; health officials believe existing FDA-approved vaccines are still helping to reduce severe illness and death rates, and reducing public health impacts.
