Community market to introduce new online ordering

EDMESTON, NY, March 6, 2018 … Pathfinder Produce, Pathfinder Village’s community fresh fruits and vegetable market, will celebrate its fifth anniversary on Thursday, March 15, during its regular market hours in Edmeston.  To mark five years of providing fresh and nutritious produce to families in our area, the market is introducing an online ordering platform, which will launch on Monday, March 12.

“Many of our area communities are in food deserts – places where fresh foods are not easily available.  Working with the Bassett Research Institute and our Edmeston and Morris 5-2-1-0 Program partners, our market has helped fill a real need for fresh produce locally, and is helping improve families’ diets,” said Dan Osborn, Pathfinder’s Sr. Director of Quality Assurance and Ancillary Services.  “Another great outcome of this weekly market is that it provides a key role for our Adult Day Services members, with opportunities for them to support local health initiatives that are important to everyone.”

As part of the fifth anniversary celebration, the market is expanding its services by offering a secure online ordering platform, available from a link at the Village’s main website (http://pathfindervillage.org).  Using this link, customers will be able to place their weekly order for fresh, affordably priced fruits and vegetables on Mondays and Tuesdays (through 11:59 p.m.).

Customers will then be able to pick-up their pre-packaged orders at the market’s Edmeston location, at the Pathfinder Village Commons, or the Morris location, at the United Methodist Church, 17 Church Street, Morris, on late Thursday afternoons.  Payment may be made online through major credit cards; those who use Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program cards may telephone in orders at (607) 965-8377, ext. 186, on Mondays and Tuesdays during regular business hours.

During the March 15 market’s celebration in Edmeston, there will also be produce specials, cooking demonstrations, prize drawings, and specially-themed baked goods to kick-off Pathfinder’s observance of World Down Syndrome Day, an annual global event held on March 21.
