Senior Director of Admissions | Kelly Meyers

Kelly Meyers began her career as a speech-language pathologist in the early childhood arena. Recognizing the importance of team building and collaboration, she transitioned to a leadership role early in her career. Kelly brings over 20 years of experience working with clinicians, educators, children, families and community-based partners to the Otsego Academy leadership team. Kelly joined Pathfinder Village in 2010.

As the Director of Admissions at Pathfinder Village, Kelly works with individuals, families and advocates, as well as representatives from school districts and human service agencies, to identify ways that children and adults with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities might access Pathfinder School, Pathfinder Village, Camp Pathfinder, and now Otsego Academy at Pathfinder Village.    

Kelly received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. She holds her certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology. She is a New York State licensed speech-language pathologist and holds her permanent certification as a teacher of the speech and hearing handicapped. Kelly lives in New Berlin, New York, with her husband, Tom, and two sons. Both she and her husband have adult siblings with Down syndrome.

Program Coordinator | Jessie Sayers

Jessie Sayers is the Program Coordinator for Otsego Academy, and is passionate about guiding young adults with intellectual disabilities in their quests for independence, self-advocacy, and self-determination. She brings 15 years’ experience serving individuals with special needs and their families in residential, educational, occupational, and community settings, and is excited to share her expertise with the students at Otsego Academy.

Not only does Jessie serve as a mentor and teacher to young adults, she provides the direct supervision and administrative oversight for the Academy, an innovative, responsive two-year post-secondary program at Pathfinder Village. Jessie serves as the liaison for families, community supporters, and business partners, which are crucial for the daily programs and successes of Academy students. Jessie ensures that each student has opportunities to articulate their immediate and long term goals, aligning academic and independent living/dorm experiences in an effective and enjoyable manner.

Jessie obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development at SUNY Oswego in Oswego, NY. Jessie lives in Unadilla Forks, NY with her husband and two daughters. 

Transition Specialist | Ashley Dreyer

 Ashley Dreyer graduated from Morrisville State College with her Associate’s degree in Human Services. Before becoming Transition Specialist for Otsego Academy, Ashley worked with individuals with mental health challenges. Wanting to explore other areas in her field, Ashley became employed through Pathfinder Village as Otsego Academy’s Transition Specialist. Ashley guides students during their internships both on and off campus.  Ashley assists students to build employment skills and recognize their full potential as being part of the working community. Ashley is passionate about helping each student achieve their goals of higher education and independence. In addition to guidance during internships, Ashley works directly with the Program Coordinator to assist in engaging students in skill building courses and activities that encourage greater independence in all areas.
