About the Chobani Tennis Classic
The Chobani Tennis Classic, founded in 2010, was created as a sister event to The Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am, both of which take place in historic Cooperstown, New York, the Tuesday after Labor Day. The Tennis Classic is sponsored by the Chobani Foundation, and hosted by the Cooperstown Country Club, which overlooks beautiful Otsego Lake.
This year’s events will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2017; the Tennis Classic will feature a scramble round-robin format for 32 players in two flights. Players will enjoy watching tournament play while enjoying the hospitality of the Country Club; participants and sponsors are invited to attend a cocktail reception and Awards Banquet at The Otesaga later that evening. The tournament supports the Pathfinder Village Foundation’s Scholarship Endowment, which assists Village residents and Otsego Academy students with tuition charges, and allows them to continue their paths of growth and independence.
Each year, the Tennis Classic attracts players from throughout North America, and is considered the region’s preeminent charitable tennis tournament. With the Chobani Foundation as Title Sponsor, the tournament is organized by a volunteer committee chaired by Bob and Patricia Hanft, Cooperstown, NY.
